Job Summary:

This position will support the Corporate and Assistant Controller and be involved with sales tax activities for the American Nederman companies. This position will also be responsible for account reconciliations and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

This position has a broad role that can be impacted by the person’s preferences and proven abilities. A successful candidate will be a high-energy person with a desire to learn and grow. The person must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with the organization

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of sales tax general ledger accounts for multiple entities
  • Monitoring of entities for nexus
  • Registration of entities in states where nexus has been reached
  • Manage any sales tax audits that may occur
  • Assist with documenting and improving internal control processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Your Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting as a minimum, but a Master’s Degree in Accounting a plus
  • Minimum 3 year experience in industry, preferably a manufacturing or distribution environment or
  • 3-5 years of Public accounting experience from large firm

Certificates, Licenses or Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Accounting systems and principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with an integrated ERP required
  • Percentage-of-completion accounting experience preferred
